The short version: no tracking, no analytics, no ads — and when you reserve a seat at a table, we keep exactly what a reservation needs (your name and email), in Canada, and delete it when you ask.

What the site and the game collect on their own / Le site et le jeu, seuls

• No tracking. No analytics. No ads. No location. No cookies. Browsing this site sends us nothing.
• The game at /play/ still saves your progress only in your own browser's storage (localStorage), on your own device. It is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes it.
• The 18+ checkbox is a self-declaration. We do not ask for or store your birthdate or ID. (We follow the Privacy Commissioner of Canada's principle of using the least intrusive age check that fits the risk.)

What a reservation collects / Ce qu'une réservation recueille

• When you reserve a seat at a table, we store: your name, your email, the table you chose, and — only if you volunteer them — your parcours (francophone / learner / in-between / prefer not to say) and the invitation code you used.
• We use it for exactly three things: holding your seat, sending you one confirmation and one reminder, and keeping the seats-remaining count honest. Nothing else, ever.
• It is stored in our database hosted by Supabase in Canada (Montréal region).
• The board never shows who reserved — only how many seats remain. Attendee names are never public.
• If you redeem an invitation code, we record that the code was used and the first name you give (if any), so codes stay single-use and the founding numbers stay honest.
• We prune reservation records after the table has happened, keeping only anonymous counts.

What the forms collect / Les formulaires

• The waitlist, feedback, quest proposal, and Hôte application forms collect what you type — usually a name and email — for exactly one purpose each: emailing you about the launch, responding to you, reviewing your quest, or calling you back about hosting. Nothing else, ever.
• Depending on which mirror of the site you're on, submissions are processed either by our database (Supabase, Canada) or by our hosting provider Netlify in the United States (where they could be accessible to authorities under US law), or sent directly by your own email app.
• We will never sell, rent, trade, or share any list. We delete stale submissions periodically.
• Any email we send will identify us, include a working unsubscribe, and honour it within 10 business days (per Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation).

Your choices / Vos choix

• Want your name/email corrected or deleted? Email us — we'll do it and confirm.
• Want a copy of what we hold about you? Same email. (It will be very short.)
• Not satisfied? You may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If this ever changes / Si cela change

This July 17 update is itself the promise from the previous version kept: real event registration arrived, so the policy was rewritten and re-dated the same day, before any reservation was taken. The same rule holds going forward: anything new that collects more (accounts, payments going live) gets this page rewritten first. There are still no analytics and no tracking, and there is no plan for them. Location features, if they ever exist, will be opt-in, foreground-only, and never store movement history.
